TBM BRAKES BECOMES
1ST TRIPLE MAJOR CONTINGENCY SPONSOR OF SWEENEY RUSH SERIES SUPPORTING LM, MODS
& STOCKS WITH OVER $6,000 OF PRODUCT
By Mike Leone
April 27, 2015
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)....With
the 2015 racing season slowly getting underway throughout the Northeast and
Mid-Atlantic Regions, Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series Directors
Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are proud to announce that TBM Brakes (formerly The
Brake Man) has become the first company to become a Major Contingency Sponsor of
all three of its divisions- RUSH Late Models, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, and RUSH
Pro Stocks! All told, TBM Brakes
will award racers over $6,000 in product during the 2015 season!
In recent years, TBM Brakes has become synonymous with the
"Tough Brake of the Night" award at each every Sweeney RUSH Late Model Tour
event, and has provided one of the largest valued prizes annually with its brake
calipers at the popular "Manufacturers Night".
While the Late Model program will again continue in 2015 as Nolan Dalton
was the infamous recipient at the Bazell/Sunoco Race Fuels Southern Late Model
Tour opener at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex on April 18, a similar program
has been extended to the new Bicknell Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modified
Tour and its accompanying "Manufacturers Night" as well as product for the new
RUSH Pro Stock Series.
"A few years ago I had the pleasure of meeting TBM Brakes,
then The Brake Man, CEO Warren Gilliland at the Parts Peddler Show in Syracuse,
New York," explained Emig. "Little
did we know that was the beginning of what would become a tremendous and ongoing
relationship between our two companies.
Recently Warren introduced me to Randy Cotteleer, now the CEO of the
company. After spending time discussing
the concept of RUSH with him, the expansion of the Series into both the Modified
and Pro Stock divisions, and the importance of our contingency partners and how
they have helped us grow our series, he tripled his commitment to RUSH with over
$6,000 of valuable product contingencies!"
“TBM Brakes is excited to
expand our support to mirror the expansion in the RUSH Racing Series,” stated
TBM Brakes’ CEO Randy Cotteleer. “A
vibrant, growing population of racers is critical to the success of our
industry, we are honored to be involved with RUSH’s first class teams, venues,
fans and sponsors.”
Twenty-four events make up the combined Insinger
Performance/Sunoco Race Fuels Northern and Bazell/Sunoco Race Fuels Southern
Sweeney Late Model Touring Series including the July 26 $30,000 "Manufacturers
Night" at Eriez Speedway where four F3 Series Calipers will be given away valued
at $1,800.
A minimum of six Bicknell Racing Products RUSH Sportsman
Modified Touring Series events will be contested in 2015.
At each of these nights a TBM Brakes "Tough Brake of the Night" will be
selected. At the August 9
"Manufacturers Night" at Sportsman's Speedway, two F1 Tornado and two F3 Tornado
Calipers will be given away, which is a value of nearly $1,400.
And while there's no Sweeney RUSH Pro Stock Touring Series
or scheduled "Manufacturers Night", there will be a stand-alone event for GM 604
and 602 crate engine cars at Lernerville Speedway on Saturday, September 19
during the annual "Autumn-Motive Fest".
On this night, one bottle of TBM Brake Fluid will be given to each
competitor and four TBM "Thunderstorm" Blueprinted Calipers (either D52's or
D154) will be given away, valued at nearly $1,100!
"The 'Tough Brake of the Night' contingency program that
has been awarded in conjunction with our Late Model Tour events for several
years has really been well received," stated Leone.
"Basically it's a 'hard luck' award, but we know our racers have really
appreciated receiving the three bottles of the TBM's X-treme 6 Performance Brake
Fluid (over $50 in value) along with the 20% off TBM Brake purchases they
receive on a night that may not have turned out as they had hoped.
The $1800 F3 Tornado Late Model Brake
Calipers has been one of our most sought after prizes since the inception of our
Manufacturers Night promotion.
There's no doubt that both the Sportsman Modified and Pro Stock drivers will be
hoping to be the lucky recipient of their packages."

and manufacturer of made-in-America brake systems and components for motorsport,
street and fleet vehicles. TBM Brakes
engineering team has developed inspired and race-proven technology which has
revolutionized the industry while setting the standard for high-performance and

TBM Brakes was founded in 1993 and originally focused on high-performance brake
pads, brake fluid and the most accurate brake residual pressure valves on the
market. The company expanded into rotors in 1995 with the introduction of the
groundbreaking Revolution rotor, the industry's first brake rotor to implement a
convoluted design. The unique design put TBM Brakes' indelible stamp on the
racing industry. The following years saw the company roll out a string of
innovative products including patented Tornado calipers, Hurricane rotors
Thunderstorm calipers, and full street kits.
Today, TBM Brakes brake systems and components have helped countless drivers and
motorsports teams make their way to the winners circle. Victories span across a
wide range of regional and national race series and events from dirt to asphalt.
This industry-leading technology and durability is also available for street
performance and fleet vehicles as well.
TBM Brakes was founded by President and Chief Engineer Warren Gilliland. Before
launching the company, Gilliland held positions with Airheart Products, Hurst
Performance, JFZ Products, Toyota and Pontiac. His career highlights include
involvement in the first quick-change brake calipers for Indy cars, several
industry-standard racing brake pad shapes, linear brake pad compounds, the first
rear cambered spindles for NASCAR, the original zero-drag calipers, convoluted
rotors, and industry-leading technology to improve brake fluid flow.
