CENTRAL PA'S PATH VALLEY TO HOST 1ST EVER SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL WEEKLY SERIES EVENT FRIDAY; SEVERAL CONTINGENCIES POSTED

August 12, 2015                     FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Spring Run, PA)...After two months of anticipation, the first ever Crate Late Model race will be held at Path Valley Speedway Park this Friday night (August 14) under the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series banner.  Path Valley becomes the 22nd speedway in 2015 to schedule a RUSH Late Model-sanctioned event!

Path Valley has traditionally featured Steel-Block Late Models as its headlining division on Friday nights at the 1/4-mile high-banked oval located minutes off the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Bedford and Harrisburg.  Not only will the event be the Speedway's first ever Crate Late Model show, but will mark the furthest eastward Crate Late Models have ever run in Pennsylvania!

In addition to the $600 to-win, $100 to-start payoff and $25 to-win heat races, several companies have posted contingency awards (note: Path Valley has specified that the feature winner is not eligible for the prizes).  Booze Brothers Performance (BBR) will be donating two Hoosier crate tires to be given away to random place finishers.  BBR with the help of Allstar Performance is donating two aluminum body brace kits for random distribution.  BBR is providing two $50 gift certificates to be given to random finishers.  Metzler Auto, Truck & Trailer of Martinsburg, PA will be donating a tire for a "Hard Luck" award.  Jones Racing Products is donating a set of aluminum AN wrenches to the "Hard Charger" of the feature race.  Bernheisel Racing Components and Lazer Chassis will be giving away a $25 gift certificate to a random finisher.

While of course membership is never mandatory to participate in a RUSH-sanctioned event, RUSH member racers will be able to accumulate points toward the Sweeney Weekly Series Championship, along with the Pace Performance "Summer Chase", Bilstein Bandits, and the “Futures Cup” for those eligible racers on August 14.

Numerous drivers have expressed interest to compete in the event.  Female “Futures Cup” racer Jennae Piper’s father Jon has been instrumental in making the event happen.  Drivers such as standout Chad McClellan, Potomac winner Ben Bowie, Winchester and Potomac winner Logan Roberson, Bazell/Sunoco Southern Tour regulars Steve Lowery and Rob Marhefka, “Bilstein Bandits” drivers Brian Lederhouse and W.L. Stile, “Futures Cup point” leader and Roaring Knob winner Clinton Hersh, Path Valley regular Tim Snare who beat the steel blocks last year with his crate, along with Winchester regulars Transton Stoner, Timmy Booth, and James O’Hara are all expected in addition to others.

"We're very excited Path Valley is giving Crate Late Models a shot at Path Valley under our sanctioning," expressed Emig.  "We've talked to Path Valley for many years hoping for this opportunity.  We have to thank Path Valley's Mike Donald, who we've worked with in years past at Roaring Knob, for making this happen.  It's no secret steel blocks are very popular and still successful in the central and eastern part of Pennsylvania, but crate racers have been hoping for many years for the opportunity to have shows in this area.  We hope the racers will support the event so more shows can happen in the future."

Friday’s date works well for racers in that area as the RUSH Late Models are off the schedule at both Maryland's Potomac Speedway that night and the following night at Virginia's Winchester Speedway due to the World of Outlaws Late Model events.

"I've worked for the RUSH Series in past years in different capacities, and I've always felt it to be a very successful organization," stated Path Valley's Mike Donald.  "I've had drivers and fans alike inquire about bringing RUSH Crate Late Models to Path Valley.  After a couple years of discussing this within the Path Valley promotional team, we feel now is the time to move forward with it.  Path Valley is very excited to play host to this event, which will bring a great event to the track and allow RUSH Crate Late Model drivers the chance to compete on the only quarter-mile clay oval in Pennsylvania."

Gates open at 5 p.m. with warm-ups at 7:30 and racing at 8.  Gates open at 5 p.m. with warm-ups at 7:30 and racing at 8.  Pit passes are $25 for Path Valley and RUSH members and $30 for all others.   For more information on Path Valley, check out their website at www.pathvalley.com or "like" them on Facebook by searching Path Valley Speedway Park.  Path Valley is located at 17911 Dry Run Road, Spring Run, PA 17262.
