October 5, 2017               FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)...The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance is pleased to announce the winners of the Midseason $6000 "Performance Bucks" Gift Card program that is part of the "Weekly" Track Pack Bonus program as well as make official the 10 drivers that will share in over $10,000 for Pace's "Summer Chase" Late Model program.  The "Summer Chase" was unable to be finalized until the July 22 make-up feature at McKean County Raceway was completed on September 28.  Also, the Series has announced its 14 track champions as part of the "Weekly Track Pack Bonus".

For the third time in five years, Max Blair is the $3,000 Pace "Summer Chase" Late Model Champion.  Blair competed in 14 events from June 29 through September 4 earning a score of 113.64 equating to a second place average finish.  Amazingly he beat out second year RUSH Late Model racer, Chad Homan, by just 0.031 of a point!  Had Homan finished higher in any of the 18 races he competed in during the stretch or raced in one more event and finished ninth of better, he would have been the champion rather than the $1,500 runner-up.  This year, to increase incentive to participate, drivers received 0.5 of a point added to their average score for every race competed over the six race minimum.  The complete top 10 in points are posted below as part of the $10,050 program that will be paid out at the awards banquet on January 20.

For the second straight year, the Midseason "Performance Bucks" Gift Card program awarded a $100 Sweeney/Pace gift card to member drivers in third, fifth, and seventh place in points through the weekend of June 25 at each RUSH Late Model weekly-sanctioned speedway plus Sweeney Weekly Series points for the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, Pro Mods, and Pro Stocks.  (Note: the RUSH weekly point system was utilized.)  A total of $4,900 of gift cards were awarded through this program with an additional $1,100 used for other Series promotions throughout the 2017 season, which included Series Manufacturers Night events.

"We wanted to create a program that would reward a large number of RUSH racers and increase our Sweeney/Pace product awareness throughout the entire region," stated Matt Fullerton of Sweeney/Pace.  "With the help of Vicki (Emig) and Mike (Leone) from RUSH, this program was formed last year and has increased our ability to give back to even more weekly racers throughout the region.  Racers can utilize their Pace Performance Buck Gift Cards towards their purchase of any one of the hundreds of motorsports related products that are available at paceperformance.com."

"We cannot thank our branding sponsor Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC/Pace Performance for everything they do for our Series," stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig.  "Throughout the years they have continued to believe in our program and the concept of providing racers with an affordable and exciting venue to participate in by utilizing GM crate engines.  I hope the racers take a minute to browse through the Pace Performance website.  I think they will really be surprised at the hundreds of products they can utilize the Performance Buck Gift Cards for that can be very useful on their race team."

In 2016, RUSH started a new "Weekly Track Pack Bonus" program offering each Late Model weekly-sanctioned speedway $800 cash to its top five member drivers along with contingencies for positions six through eight using RUSH points!  The addition of the "Midseason Performance Bucks" program allows each individual RUSH-sanctioned track to receive over $1,300 in value for its racers over and above what their racers receive in all of the other valuable RUSH "Weekly" programs!

The 2017 champions at each RUSH weekly-sanctioned track will again earn $300 with $200 going to second, $150 third, $100 fourth, and $50 fifth as part of the "Weekly Track Pack Bonus"!  Contingency prizes will then be posted for those racers in sixth through eighth in the RUSH member points.  These bonus monies are over and above what they may receive via the National Weekly Championship, Summer Chase, and Futures Cup programs. These points concluded on October 1 with the points funds also paid at the January 20 awards banquet.  Complete points are posted on the Points page at www.rushlatemodels.com.

Pace Performance "Summer Chase" Final Points: 1. Max Blair 113.64 ($3,000)  2. Chad Homan 113.61 ($1,500)  3. Logan Roberson 111.17 ($1,000)  4. Jeremy Wonderling 110.03 ($800)  5.
