SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL SERIES CONTINUES TO INCREASE PRESENCE IN NY & CANADA; WILL DISPLAY AT MOTORSPORTS EXPO MARCH 14-15
By Mike Leone

March 10, 2015          FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)..
Due to the tremendous growth of the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series throughout New York and Ontario, Canada during the offseason, Series Directors have made a decision to have a display booth at this weekend's 29th Annual Motorsports Exposition and Trade Show that will be held in the Center of Progress Building at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY March 14-15.

A RUSH informational seminar, open to all interested parties, will also be held on Saturday at 6:00 PM and will include RUSH Competition Director Travis Harry and RUSH Authorized Engine Rebuilder Mike Ingram, along with Series Director Vicki Emig.  For more information on the Motorsports Expo show, check out their website at www.gaternews.com.

"We've had a phenomenal offseason," stated RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig.  "When it's all said and done the number of RUSH sanctioned tracks is nearly going to double from 2014 and the addition of numerous new sponsors and programs will influx thousands of additional dollars of cash and contingencies into the Series.  The majority of this growth has come from the Northernmost end of our region and because of that we felt it extremely important to be accessible and meet these new racers on a one-on-one basis.  I'm really looking forward to explaining all of the great opportunities that are now available to them through RUSH!"

Already this season Fulton, Can-Am and Stateline Speedways have come aboard joining fellow New York facility, Freedom Speedway.  Across the border in Ontario, Canada, Brighton Speedway has joined Humberstone Speedway as Saturday-Sunday RUSH Weekly-Sanctioned Speedways.  Also, Merrittville Speedway in Thorold, Ontario will host their first ever Crate Late Model race on Monday, May 18- a $2,000 to-win Sweeney Tour event, and Brewerton and Woodhull (NY ) Speedways will each host a Sweeney Weekly Series event.

"We have to thank the continued loyalty of Humberstone Speedway," said RUSH Co-Director Mike Leone.  "We've had a working relationship for several years now with the Cosco Family and promoter Bob Davidson.  They've stuck with the Crate Late Models in Modified country and their program is starting to grow. With the addition of  several new RUSH sanctioned tracks around them 2015 is sure to one of the most successful seasons to date with the class"

Another track not far from the New York border, Eriez Speedway, has also joined RUSH for the first time.  Though not in the NY/Canada area, Ohio's Wayne County Speedway, has also joined RUSH in 2015 and will make for the furthest westernmost speedway.  The expansion now means RUSH spans some 600 miles from Brighton, Ontario to Mechanicsville, MD, and has allowed for a split of the Sweeney Touring division into two Regions- a North and a South.  Each Tour will pay $4,000 to-win with the overall champion receiving $2,000 meaning one Sweeney Tour driver could win $10,000!

The Sweeney Late Model Weekly Series will again award $5,000 to the champion paying down 40 positions for over $27,500!  Member racers' best 12 finishes at RUSH-sanctioned events March through September will be utilized.

The Pace Performance "Summer Chase" will offer another $10,000+ with $3,000 to the champion and paying back 10 positions.  This system looks at member racers' average point scores in a minimum of six events from July 1 through Labor Day.  To be eligible for the Chase, drivers must be in the top 10 of weekly track points or the Tour.

The "Futures Cup" returns providing a $3,000 point fund with $1,000 to the champion and paying back 10 positions for eligible teenage racers.

And of course new in 2015 is the Bilstein Bandits program over $13,000 cash for the top 12 member racers that run the $135 Bilstein "sealed" spec shock in 2015.  This will be based on the Sweeney Weekly points with the top driver earning $5,000.

Membership forms will be available at the show.  Though not mandatory to compete in any RUSH-sanctioned event, membership cost is $125 for the Weekly or Tour and $225 for both.  Membership also gives each driver an additional $100,000 of excess participant accident insurance at RUSH events.
