BOBBY LAKE MOTORSPORTS TO PRESENT
“SHOCK THE CLOCK & BEAT THE HEAT QUICK CASH PROGRAM” AT SWEENEY RUSH L.M. TOUR
TIME TRIAL EVENTS
By Mike Leone
April 15, 2013 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)…Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series
directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone continue to add additional programs and
contingencies around the Series. With the opening Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC
Touring Series weekend fast approaching at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex and
Hagerstown Speedway on April 19-20, the Series is proud to welcome on the Bobby
Lake Motorsports “Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat Quick Cash Program”.
The longtime Late Model car owner has been a strong supporter of the Series
since being formed last winter and has stepped up to present this
much-appreciated program that will take place at a minimum of 11 Sweeney
Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring Series $2,000 or more to-win events when the
qualifying time trial format is able to be utilized.
At these events, the “Shock the Clock” fast qualifier will receive $100 and each
of the “Beat the Heat” heat race winners will receive $25 from Bobby Lake
Motorsports.
“This is an awesome gesture by Bobby,” stated Emig. “First, to receive his
personal support of our Series, then to come up with this money means a lot to
us, and I know the racers will appreciate it. Every little bit helps these guys
and this added with our nightly contingencies programs from K&N, Precise, and
The Brake Man just adds to our Series.”
“The Battle Down the National Pike” will get things in high gear for the
inaugural season with $2,000 to-win at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in
Markleysburg, PA on Friday, April 19 followed by $2,500 to-win at Hagerstown
Speedway in Hagerstown, MD on Saturday night. The Sweeney RUSH Series will join
the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series each night!
$1,200 in travel money has been posted for the weekend with the top 10 Roaring
Knob finishers that travel to Hagerstown receiving $100 each in addition to two
other random draws. That means a weekend sweep could be worth $4,850 in cash
plus any other contingencies!
Based out of Uniontown, Pa., Bobby Lake Motorsports has been a successful car
owner in both Super and Crate Late Models for over 35 years. Lake has had lots
of success fielding winning Super Late Models for West Virginia standout racers
Doug Horton and Jared Hawkins over the years. When the Crate Late Models
exploded onto the scene in the Northeast, BLM had winning years with Rick
Strickler.
Last year at age 11, his grandson Michael Lake took over the wheel of the #27
Crate Late Model where he recorded eight top 10 finishes and went on to finish
ninth in points at Roaring Knob, and ended the season winning the B feature at
the “Super Nationals”. Earlier this year at Bubba Raceway Park in FL, Michael
became the youngest driver to ever qualify for a NeSmith A feature. On April 7,
Michael won his heat race and finished 10th in his first ever start at Sharon
Speedway in the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Weekly Series opener.
