MARSHALL O’BRIAN (RUSH LATE MODELS), LOGEN LOCKHART (RUSH SPRINTS), KARSTON KING (RUSH SPORTSMAN MODS) & VAUGHN NYSTROM (RUSH PRO MODS) SCORE THEIR 1ST CAREER DIVISIONAL WINS

(Pulaski, PA)...The month of August marks the end of regular weekly action at many of the Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants sanctioned tracks, but the racing action certainly did not disappoint as several first-time winners entered their names into the record books.  Current Russ King Racing Futures Cup points leader, Marshall O’Brian, scored his career first win in RUSH Late Model Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action at Woodhull Raceway.  Third generation racer Karston King claimed his first ever Hovis RUSH Sportsman Modified victory, while second generation driver Logen Lockhart celebrated his career first RUSH Sprint Car victory in Rustler Sales and Service Weekly Series action. Veteran Vaughn Nystrom earned his first career victory in Hovis RUSH Pro Mod action as four of the five RUSH classes featured first career winners!

Friday evening at Raceway 7, Breyton Santee led the entire distance of the RUSH Late Model main event to tally his second victory of the season at the facility and his third overall in Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action.  Kyle Zimmerman claimed second with Austin Hauser finishing third in his first start of the season at the Conneaut, Ohio oval. Billy Henry, Jr. and Cory Sines rounded out the top five.  Santee’s victory also propelled him to the $1,000 Track Pack title as he beat out Henry and Jeff Watson by just one-point!

Tom Snyder, Jr. continued his dominance at Dog Hollow Speedway as he tallied win number eight of the season on Friday night in RUSH Late Model Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action.  Skylar Park was a career best second as Leo Irrapino, Cody Koteles and Tyler Ellenberger followed.

It looked like Russ King Racing Futures Cup points leader Marshall O’Brian’s 2026 season may have been over with terminal engines issues on Augus 22 at Woodhull Raceway.  Marshall though was able to get a new powerplant installed from Ingram Engines to return to action on Saturday and the 19-year-old was able to capture his first career win in the RUSH Late Models!   Brian Knowles and O’Brian led the field to green with Knowles leading the first lap. O’Brian took command on the second lap, withstood the challenges of veteran Steve LeBarron, and went on to score the popular victory.  Rickie Loucks, Wyatt White and Joe Layfield finished third through fifth.  

Hovis RUSH Late Model competitors at Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway competed in two 20-lap Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series events Saturday.  Tommy Schirnhofer, Jr. and Matt Bernard led the 24-car field to the green. Schrinhofer, Jr. led the first six circuits with fourth place starter Christian Schneider settling into second. As the duo entered lapped traffic, Schneider made his move and took command. At the checkered it was Schneider taking the $1,010 victory by 1.473 seconds over Bernard. Schirnhofer, Jr. claimed third with Daryl Charlier and Clinton Hersh completing the top five.

Schneider spun a six on the Wheel of Misfortune in victory lane which meant the top six finishers from the first main event would be inverted for the second 20-lap event. This placed Jake Gunn on the pole with Hersh starting second. Gunn wasted no time jumping out to the lead and went on to score a convincing 4.647 second win worth $1,010 over Charlier.  Hersh claimed third with Bernard and Schneider rounding out the top five.

RUSH Late Model action brought out a strong 24-car field to Stateline Speedway on Saturday night.  The 20-lap feature saw a thrilling three-wide battle between Jason Genco, Jeremy Wonderling and rookie Branden Warner.  Warner led the first 13 laps until Wonderling utilized his experience to take the lead.  A late race caution set up a two-lap dash to the checkered with Genco clearing Warner and mounting a high side charge to challenge Wonderling, but Wonderling was able to hold on for his second win of the season at the Busti, NY oval and ninth overall of 2026 in Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action.  Warner was third for his third straight podium finish for the rookie Late Model racer. Dusty Waters was fourth in his first appearance since opening night.  Track Pack points leader, Jake Wilber, was fifth.   

After an opening lap crash between Dave DuBois and Doug Ricotta, third place starter Bill Holmes III took the lead on Saturday at The Dirt Track at Genesee when the action resumed and went on to score his second consecutive victory and third overall at the New York oval.  Eleventh place starter David Pangrazio tried his best to pressure Holmes but settled for second place at the checkered flag. Jimmy Johnson, J.J. Mazur and Dubois finished third through fifth respectively. 

Hovis Late Model Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action returned to Muskingum County Speedway this past weekend.  Pole-sitter Logan Stockdale led the way for the first 16 circuits before teammate Kyle Zimmerman took command and went on for his second consecutive win at the Ohio oval.  Stockdale finished second with Anthony Kinkade third. Rusty Redman and Lauren Longbrake rounded out the top five.

Devin Brannon tallied his ninth RUSH Late Model win of the season at Winchester Speedway on Saturday to not only maintain the Winchester Track Pack points lead but also the Colussy Chevrolet National Weekly Series lead.  Kristopher Hutton led the first two laps before Brannon took the top spot and cruised to victory in the 20-lap event. Bubby Tharp, Jr. finished second with Hutton getting third. Seventh place starter Steve Powell came home in fourth with Dylan Rutherford finishing fifth.

Jason Dobson and Kurt Stebbins paced the RUSH Late Model field at Bradford Speedway Sunday evening. Stebbins immediately took command and led the entire distance of the 25-lap main event to score the win. It was Stebbins’ first win of the season at the track and his third overall in Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action. Fourth place starter Jeremy Wonderling came home in second with Jake Wilber finishing third. Dobson and Jacob Tubbs rounded out the top five.

Hovis RUSH Sprint Cars teams were in action at Tri-City Raceway Park on Friday night as a season high 21 cars turned out for the annual “Manufacturers Night” presented by MSD Performance.  Fourteen-year-old Logen Lockhart grabbed the lead at the start and drove a flawless race to score his career first divisional victory. Blaze Myers, who started sixth, came home in the runner-up position to earn the $100 “Kenny’s Cash” in memory of Kenny Kent from Arnie Kent.  Gale Ruth, Jr. was third. Russ King Racing Futures Cup points leader Brayden Blackshear was fourth over Devon Deeter.           

The RUSH Sprint Cars were also in action at the “Monster Half-Mile” at PPMS.  Veteran Gale Ruth, Jr. led the first two circuits before Trent Marshall made his move to take the top spot.  Marshall went on to lead the remainder of the 15-lap event to score his career first victory at the speedway. The win was also Marshall’s second of the season in Rustler Sales and Service Weekly Series action.  Ruth, Jr. came home in second.  Wyatt Long was third and earned the $100 Kenny’s Cash.  Luke Roessner and Samantha Priest completing the top five.

The lone Hovis RUSH Sportsman Modified event took place Friday at Raceway 7. Anthony Antus led the first three circuits before third generation racer Karston King took the top spot. The 16-year-old driver would lead the remainder of the 20-lap event to claim his career first RUSH victory by 1.721 seconds.  Doug Rutana was second.  Kole Holden finished third and also secured the 2026 track championship in the division. Jacob Rutana came home in fourth, and Kyle Hanshaw had a solid run to finish fifth in his 2026 Raceway 7 debut.

The Hovis RUSH Pro Mod teams were back in action Saturday at Stateline Speedway. Veteran Vaughn Nystrom started second but was not to be denied as he led the entire distance of the 15-lap event to score his career first victory in more than 25 years of racing.  Tyler Oakes, Josh Wilcox, Al Brewer and Tim Peterson completed the top five.

Hovis ARUSH Stock car action saw a three-way battle for the lead Friday at Tri-City Raceway Park between Raiddan Wilson, William Baker, Jr. and Cole Laskey. Baker spun on lap eight and again on lap nine setting up a battle between Wilson and Laskey for the win. The final six laps of the event saw Wilson use the bottom groove to score the win. Laskey, Baker, Robert Switser, and Darr Diegelman followed.

Saturday night at Stateline Speedway, Kaden Michael took the lead in the RUSH Stock car main event and played defense to score the victory while three and four wide battles took place behind him.  It was Michael’s first Stateline win of the season and just second overall for the defending and two-time Series Champion.  Cole Laskey had his second runner-up finish of the weekend as he currently leads the Russ King Racing Futures Cup points and is fourth in the overall standings. David McAvoy was third as Alex Bush and William Baker, Jr. rounded out the top five.     

The lone rainout of the weekend occurred on Sunday as Eriez Speedway as the northwest Pennsylvania oval lost their third straight program and fourth in five shows during the month of August.

The Labor Day weekend is here and there is plenty of exciting Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH racing action scheduled. This Sunday evening, the RUSH Late Model Flynn's Tire/Gunter's Honey Touring Series will make its first visit of the season to Tri City Raceway Park for a $4,000 to-win Platinum Event. In addition, the RUSH Stock Cars will also be in action competing for a $400 to win top prize.

RUSH Late Model Colussy Chevrolet Weekly Series action is scheduled for Dog Hollow Speedway on Friday and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Stateline Speedway and Woodhull Raceway on Saturday.  Bradford will complete their season on Sunday.

Hovis RUSH Sprint Car teams will compete in Rustler Sales and Service Weekly Series action Saturday at Tri-City Raceway Park. The event will pay a season best $1,000 to-win, $175 to start.

RUSH Pro Mod and Stock Car competitors will be in action Saturday at Stateline Speedway, while RUSH Sportsman Modified competitors will have the weekend off.
