JEREMIAH MARSHALL BECOMES THE LATEST AT WINCHESTER TO CAPTURE HIS 1ST CAREER HOVIS RUSH LATE MODEL WIN; CAREER 1ST VICTORY FOR 13-YEAR-OLD COLE STRICKLAND IN RUSH STOCKS AT ERIEZ

(Pulaski, PA)...Mother Nature tried her best to interrupt the Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Racing Series presented by Born2Run Lubricants action in the region last weekend and in several cases, she did succeed as rainouts claimed much of the racing action, but those who did get their events in provided fans with some memorable moments as Jeremiah Marshall and Cole Strickland scored their career first victories.  In addition, Joe Martin tallied another win at the Marion Center Speedway and JC Boyer claimed his first RUSH Sportsman Modified checkered flag of the season in unusual fashion at Sharon Speedway.

Congrats to Alan Chapman on winning his fifth of the year at Skyline Raceway Motorsports Park on Friday night beating out his brother Todd Chapman, who recorded his fourth runner-up the season. 

Second place starter Jeremiah Marshall took off in the lead in RUSH Late Model City Chevrolet Weekly Series action at Winchester Speedway with Tyler Hoy and last week’s winner Davin Kaiser close behind.  Marshall continued to pull away from the field and began to work his way through lapped traffic by lap 13.  The event’s only caution flew on lap 17 and gave Hoy and Kaiser one final opportunity to challenge Marshall but the Stuarts Draft, VA native would not be denied as he went on to score his first ever RUSH Late Model victory!  Marshall becomes the third driver in the last five races at Winchester to win their first career RUSH Late Model race joining Cameron Campbell and Davin Kaiser.  Hoy was second for the third time in the last five races as Kaiser, Dale Hollidge and Mike Franklin completed the top five.

Braeden Dillinger and Mike Laughard led the RUSH Late Model to the green Saturday evening at Marion Center Raceway.  Dillinger led the first 20 laps and appeared to be headed to his first victory of the season when misfortune struck.  Joe Martin inherited the lead and went on to lead the final five circuits to score his third victory in four tries on the season at the Indiana County, PA oval.  Fifth place starter Andrew Koenig came home in second followed by Noah Brunell, Mike Laughard and Joe Zulisky.

Another strong field of 21 RUSH Late Models provided great racing action at Eriez Speedway on Sunday evening.  David Parker and Will Pinckney led the field to the green as last week’s winner Jason Genco, who started in sixth, worked his way through the field.  Genco took the lead on lap four and went on to score his second consecutive victory of the season at the speedway and fourth overall in City Chevrolet Weekly Series action.  Parker had a good run and come home in the runner-up position with Breyton Santee, David Pangrazio and Khole Wanzer completing the top five.  It was the fourth straight week Eriez has had 21 cars as they've had at least 20 for all seven of their 2023 shows.

The Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Stock Cars were also in action at Eriez on Sunday.  Bill Baker, Jr. and Lane Reinwald led the field to the green but it was 13-year-old rookie competitor Cole Strickland who would score a memorable career first victory in the event to become the fifth different winner in the division this season!  Cody Rickard claimed the second position with Reinwald in third.  Alex Bush and Brian Dwyer rounded out the top five.   

The lone Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Sportsman Modfied event last week took place at the Sharon Speedway Saturday evening despite three rounds of rain that made for a fast track.  A big field of 26 cars were on hand, which was the highest since the 2021 season finale at Sharon.  Tony Tatgenhorst led the first five laps until a caution slowed the field.  When the action resumed Ayden Cipriano used the outside to lead lap six before Tatgenhorst regained the top spot on lap seven. Tatgenhorst opened up some space between himself and Cipriano during the middle stage of the event but Cipriano began reeling him in on lap 14. 

On the last lap, Cipriano used the outside groove in an attempt to get by Tatgenhorst who moved up to block the move.  The duo came down the back straightaway hooked together before Tatgenhorst clipped an infield tire in turn three and spun.  Cipriano inherited the lead, but fate once again intervened as his engine went up in smoke on the final lap.  JC Boyer and Rob Kristyak both made contact with Cipriano as he slowed, but Boyer was able to sneak under both competitors to score the dramatic victory. It was Boyer's first win of 2023 and came by 0.773 seconds over Kristyak. Fifteenth place starter Jacob Jordan claimed third with Bill Cunningham fourth and Gage Priester fifth.  All five drivers recorded their best finish of the season; in fact, it was Jordan's first top five at Sharon in eight years of trying and Priester's first time five in five years of trying!

While the RUSH Late Models had the night off at Bradford, the RUSH Pro Mods were in competition for their only completed event of the weekend.  Steve Dixon emerged victorious in a thriller by making a last lap pass of Al Brewer.  For Dixon, who leads the $3,500 to-win Hovis Weekly Series standings, it was his third Bradford win of the year and 10th overall in the division.  Brewer was second over Critter Hemphill, Tyler Oakes, and Damian Bidwell.

Mother Nature forced the cancellation of Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Racing action at Freedom Motorsports Park, Raceway 7, Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway, Stateline Speedway, Tyler County Speedway, and Woodhull Raceway.  Potomac Speedway, Delaware International Speedway, and Genesee Speedway were off this past weekend.

As we enter the first weekend in August, the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply RUSH Late Model Flynn’s Tire Touring Series will be in action at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Saturday, August 5th for the running of the 34^th Annual Jook George Steel City Classic.  The event will pay a minimum of $6,010 to win.  The Tour will then compete at Eriez Speedway on Sunday in a $3,000 to win event that is also the very popular "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD performance.  More than $27,000 of valuable and useful products will be distributed to the RUSH Late Model drivers in action that evening.  After a day off on Monday, the Tour will visit Woodhull Raceway for the first time in nine years on Tuesday, August 8 for the "Darwin Davis Memorial" paying $4,000 to win.

City Chevrolet RUSH Late Model Weekly Series action will take place on Thursday at McKean County Raceway and Georgetown Speedway then Friday evening at Raceway 7, Skyline, and The Hill Speedway for $1,000 to-win.  Saturday night divisional action is scheduled for Genesee Speedway, Stateline Speedway, Winchester Speedway and Woodhull Raceway.  Demetrios Drellos made laps last Sunday at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park in Fultonville, NY for their upcoming first ever RUSH Late Model race on Sunday, August 13.

Hovis Auto and Truck Supply RUSH Sprint Car action takes place on Saturday at Hummingbird Speedway for the first time ever with $800 on the line, while the RUSH Sportsman Modified teams will be in action Friday at Raceway 7 and Saturday at Sharon Speedway for the Wedge Motorsports "Route 7 Rumble" Series.  RUSH Pro Mod teams will be in action at McKean County Raceway Thursday and Stateline Speedway Saturday.  The Hovis RUSH Stock Cars will be back at Eriez for their "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD as well.
