RAIN POSTPONES SATURDAY'S (6/29) SWEENEY RUSH LATE MODEL TOUR "MANUFACTURERS NIGHT" PRESENTED BY MSD TO JULY 20 AT PITTSBURGH

(Imperial, PA)...Early Saturday afternoon (June 29), Pittsburgh's PA Motor Speedway management made the tough decision with the sun shining to call off the "Herb Scott Memorial" for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series due to projected thunderstorms arriving early in the evening.  The decision turned out to be the correct one as the "Monster Half-Mile" was hit with several rounds of storms that would have washed out the program.  PPMS management and RUSH Series Directors have agreed to reschedule the $2,000 to-win Marquee Event, which also includes the "Manufacturers Night" presented by MSD Performance with over $30,000 of product giveaways, to Saturday, July 20.     

The Sweeney RUSH Tour will now focus its attention to Tuesday (July 2) at Weedsport (NY) Speedway for a $2,000 to-win Marquee Event.  This will be the second straight year to have this event nationally broadcast through MAVTV/Speed Sport TV presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Insinger Performance.  The event is scheduled to be shown on August 8.  Last year's race was terrific with John Waters victorious and this was the first time ever for a nationally broadcast Crate Late Model event.  Other major sponsors of the televised event include CrateInsider.com, Close Racing Supply, Alternative Power Sources, and Hovis Auto & Truck Supply.

Following Weedsport will be the first ever RUSH Late Model events in the Canadian province of Quebec.  The "Quebec Invasion" will feature back-to-back Platinum Touring Series events at Autodrome Granby (July 12) and Le RPM Speedway (July 13).  Each night will be $4,000 to-win, $400 to-start in US funds.  There will also be 20 $100 Sunoco gift cards given away.
