(Pulaski, PA)…The new RUSH Dirt Late Model Series has been diligently preparing for the upcoming 2013 season.  RUSH will be sanctioning weekly Crate Late Model racing in the Northeast as well as presenting a slate of Touring Series events in its inaugural season, which is only four months away.  With this said, RUSH is thrilled to announce two high-profile early season Touring Series dates as a doubleheader of weekend action with the nationally-known Lucas Oil Dirt Series for the Super Late Models.

The back-to-back nights of competition will feature a $2,000 to-win event on Friday, April 19 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex followed by a first ever Crate Late Model race at Hagerstown Speedway with $2,500 to-win, $250 to-start on Saturday night!  The weekend will be dubbed the “Battle Down the National Pike” as both speedways are located right off of the historic US Route 40 in Markleysburg, PA and Hagerstown, MD.

Not only will two great purse structures be on the line, but the RUSH Series will post an additional $1,200 in travel money for teams competing at Hagerstown.  The 10 highest finishing drivers and two other random competitors at Roaring Knob that compete at Hagerstown will receive an additional $100!  Group qualifying will be used at both events.

Roaring Knob has become a big player in the Crate Late Model racing world in recent seasons hosting large events, while at the same time featuring a strong core of weekly competitors.  Last year’s Crate Late Model event with Lucas Oil drew 42 cars and with more money on the line and the kickoff of this tremendous weekend, a stellar field is expected!

The Hagerstown race will be a historic landmark event for Crate Late Models at “The Capital of Dirt Track Racing”.  Hagerstown has a rich history and is nationally-known and one of the most popular speedways in the entire Northeast.  Hagerstown touts itself as “a true ˝-mile track with straightaways over 900 ft. long & 70 ft. wide.  The track is 90 ft. wide in the turns.  The racing surface is made of the finest red clay in the nation.  The smooth, wide surface makes Hagerstown Speedway one of the fastest and safest dirt tracks in the U.S. on which to race.”

“This is going to be an outstanding weekend for the RUSH Series,” acknowledged Co-Director Vicki Emig.  “To be able to join with the Lucas Oil Series and compete in front of big crowds at the great facilities of Roaring Knob and Hagerstown is going to be huge for our Series and racers.  Hagerstown will be an entire new market for Crate Late Model racing and I can’t thank track general manager Lisa Plessinger enough for giving us this wonderful opportunity.”

Coupled with the recent announcement by Roaring Knob’s Rick Jones that his sister track The Rock Allegany County Speedway will be moving to Sundays and featuring Crate Late Model racing for the first time ever under the new RUSH Series banner, it continues to expand crate racing to the east.  Stay tuned for more information on this area.
