January 22, 2014                FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Pulaski, PA)…Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone are proud to announce that the Bobby Lake Motorsports “Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat Quick Cash Program” will return once again in 2014 all at Sweeney Tour time trial events.

At these events, the “Shock the Clock” fast qualifier will receive $100 cash and each of the “Beat the Heat” heat race winners will receive $25 cash from Bobby Lake Motorsports!  The longtime Late Model car owner has been a strong supporter of the Series since being formed a little more than one year ago.  The 2014 Sweeney Touring schedule will be released soon.

“This was an awesome gesture by Bobby and we're really happy he's decided to renew the program for 2014,” stated Emig.  “It's been great to have his personal support of our Series, and then to come up with this money means a lot to us, and I know the racers will again appreciate it.  Every little bit helps these guys and this added with our event contingencies programs from K&N, Precise, The Brake Man, ARbodies, and TurboStart just adds to our Series.”

There were 14 qualifying time trial events in 2013 with 11 different drivers setting fast time.  Ryan Montgomery led the way with three Bobby Lake Motorsports "Shock the Clock" honors followed by Andrew Wylie with two, while Bryce Davis, Andrew Satterlee, Will Thomas III, Josh Double, Chad Ruhlman, Max Blair, Jason Rider, Tommy Schirnhofer, Jr., and Chad McClellan each had one.

At the 2013 Awards Banquet on January 18, Bobby Lake Motorsports gave away a complete 2014 RUSH membership valued at $225 that included both the Sweeney Weekly and Sweeney Touring along with the additional $100,000 of participant accident insurance.  The winner was Matt Glanden of Denton, Maryland.

Based out of Uniontown, Pa., Bobby Lake Motorsports has been a successful car owner in both Super and Crate Late Models for over 35 years.  Lake has had lots of success fielding winning Super Late Models for West Virginia standout racers Doug Horton and Jared Hawkins over the years.  When the Crate Late Models exploded onto the scene in the Northeast, BLM had winning years with Rick Strickler.

In 2012 at age 11, his grandson Michael Lake took over the wheel of the #27 Crate Late Model where he recorded eight top 10 finishes and went on to finish ninth in points at Roaring Knob, and ended the season winning the B feature at the “Super Nationals”.  The 2013 season was a breakout year for the young Lake winning seven features including the $2,000 Sweeney Tour at Roaring Knob on Labor Day Weekend plus the $200 "Futures Cup" Trifecta finale at Roaring Knob.  In addition, Lake finished second in the "Futures Cup" points, 10th in the Sweeney Tour, and 13th in Sweeney Weekly!
