October 2, 2015            FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Hartford, OH)…After completing heat events for night one of the “Apple Festival Nationals” back on September 11, night two was rained out September 12 and the make-up date of Saturday (October 3) has now fallen victim to the cold and wet weather forecasted.  The event, which was to include the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Late Models in a $2,000 to-win Bazell/Sunoco Southern Tour event as well as the Sweeney RUSH Sportsman Modifieds in a $800 to-win Bicknell Tour event, has now been rescheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2016 with a make-up of the following Saturday.

Drivers that competed on September 11 received show-up points if they were members of the Weekly and/or Touring Series.  The make-up event in 2016 will have no bearing on the 2015 points and will be a non-point 2016 Touring Series event.  The event will count as a 2016 Weekly Series event for 2016 Weekly Series members.

Cars that didn’t compete on September 11 are permitted to race on April 16.  New cars will draw pills to determine their starting order behind the qualified cars.  Qualified cars that will have a driver change on April 16 will force that car to start behind all of the qualified cars, but ahead of any new cars.  Two-day passes purchased on September 11 and single pit passes purchased on September 12 as well as paid entry fees will be accepted on April 16.

The Sweeney RUSH Late Models will have an Insinger Performance/Bazell Race Fuels Northern Touring Series event coming up on Saturday, October 10 at McKean County Raceway in East Smethport, Pa.  Warm-ups will begin at 1 p.m. for the $1,200 to-win event, which will have a rain date of October 17.

The Bazell/Sunoco Race Fuels Southern Touring Series will conclude the 2016 season at Lernerville Speedway on October 23-24 at the Sarver, Pa. facility in the annual “Steel City Stampede” for $2,000 to-win.  Drivers that paid for their entry fee at the rained out September 19 event at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway that did not request a refund, have a $50 credit available.
